This hall presents you with opportunities
to enjoy Kaga Yuzen printed materials. These fabrics nurtured by a long
history, constitute a traditional art form and are the products for which
Ishikawa Prefecture is known. There is a demonstration corner in the building, where you can study the process of coloring, and an exhibition corner where you can experience a range of Kaga Yuzen items, from recent works to valuable works from the past. There is also a corner where you can try on a Kaga Yuzen printed kimono. If an advance reservation is made, it is possible to try on the kimono and have postcards made of you wearing it. You can also, weather permitting, take a stroll outside in the kimono for about an hour. If you want to try the Kaga Yuzen dyeing process on your own, you can dye a handkerchief with traditional patterns in the DIY corner. |
