This temple belongs to the Nichiren school of Buddhism and is dedicated to Kishibojin (God of children and easy labor). Therefore, many visitors come here to pray for an easy delivery and healthy children.
The temple grounds contain the Ningyo Tsuka (Dolls Mound). Every April 29th, injured dolls are dedicated to Ningyo Kuyo in a ceremony to placate the dolls' souls.
Large pomegranate trees at the front entrance of the temple produce vivid red flowers in early summer, adding to the beauty of the temple.
The precincts also contain the tomb of Nakamura Utaemon I, a Kabuki actor from Kanazawa who was famous for his performances as 'the enemy', and a monument to Igarashi Doho, the founder of Kaga lacquer works.
