Formerly the schoolhouse of the Fourth National High School,
this European-style red brick building was built in 1891. It preserves
and exhibits the works and materials of men like Saisei Muro, Kyoka Izumi,
and Shusei Tokuda who studied and/or worked in Ishikawa at some time during
their lives. On the second floor, there is a recreation of Saisei's study.
His desk, vase, glasses and brazier are arranged as they were in the days
he was alive. The materials of Tatsuji Miyoshi, Yasushi Inoue and Shigeharu
Nakano, whom pursued their studies and/or careers in Ishikawa and information
about the Fourth National High School are also on display.
The playground of the former high school is now open to the
public. It is called Central Park and is well-loved by the citizens of
Kanazawa. |
